Business Type

Choose your business type to enable industry-specific tracking features and analytics. Your business type determines which metrics and tracking options are available in your dashboard.

Accessing Business Type Settings

  1. Log in to your BeSeat account
  2. Navigate to Settings → Business Type
  3. Select your business type from the available options
  4. Click Save Business Type to save your selection

Note: Only account owners and administrators can access business type settings. Staff members do not have permission to view or modify these settings.

Understanding Business Types

Your business type determines:

  • Tracking Features: Industry-specific metrics and analytics available in your dashboard
  • Default Settings: Pre-configured settings optimized for your business type
  • Widget Behavior: How your booking widget behaves for your industry

Available Business Types

BeSeat supports various business types including:

  • Restaurant - For restaurants, cafes, and dining establishments
  • Bar - For bars, pubs, and nightlife venues
  • Hair Salon - For hair salons and barbershops
  • Beauty Center - For beauty salons and cosmetic services
  • Dental Clinic - For dental practices and oral health services
  • Eye Clinic - For optometry and eye care services
  • Fitness Studio - For gyms, fitness centers, and workout facilities
  • Spa & Wellness - For spas, massage therapy, and wellness centers
  • Coaching Services - For personal coaching and consulting
  • Pet Grooming - For pet grooming and animal care services
  • Auto Service - For automotive repair and service centers
  • Tattoo Studio - For tattoo and piercing studios
  • Music Studio - For music lessons and recording studios
  • Physiotherapy - For physical therapy and rehabilitation
  • Kids Activity Center - For children’s activities and classes

Each business type comes with pre-configured tracking icons and metrics relevant to that industry.

Selecting Your Business Type

  1. Browse the available business types displayed as cards
  2. Each card shows:
    • The business type name
    • Tracking icons relevant to that industry
  3. Click on the business type card you want to select
  4. The selected type will be highlighted with a blue border
  5. Click Save Business Type to confirm your selection

Tip: You can change your business type at any time. Your existing bookings and data will be preserved, but new tracking features will become available based on your new selection.

Tracking Features

Different business types have different tracking options:

  • Restaurants: Table turnover, peak dining times, party size analytics
  • Salons: Service duration tracking, stylist performance, appointment types
  • Clinics: Patient flow, appointment types, treatment tracking
  • Fitness Studios: Class capacity, attendance rates, equipment usage

Analytics Dashboard

Your business type determines which metrics appear in your analytics dashboard:

  • Industry-specific charts and graphs
  • Relevant performance indicators
  • Customized reporting options

Widget Behavior

Some business types may have slightly different widget behaviors:

  • Different default field labels
  • Industry-specific booking rules
  • Optimized time slot intervals

Best Practices

  • Choose Accurately: Select the business type that most closely matches your primary service
  • Review Tracking: After selecting, check your analytics dashboard to see available tracking features
  • Update When Needed: If your business focus changes, update your business type accordingly

Troubleshooting

Can’t See Business Types

If business types aren’t loading:

  • Refresh the page
  • Check your internet connection
  • Ensure you have the correct permissions (owner or administrator)

Selection Not Saving

If your selection isn’t saving:

  • Make sure you’ve clicked Save Business Type after selecting
  • Check that you have permission to modify settings
  • Try refreshing the page and selecting again

Wrong Tracking Features

If you’re seeing tracking features that don’t match your business:

  • Verify you’ve selected the correct business type
  • Consider changing to a more appropriate business type
  • Contact support if you need a custom business type
